Experticity Partners With Boy Scouts Of America

Our network continues to grow as we find passionate category influencers that are sought out for their opinion on what to buy. We are aligned with this group and their focus on great education to ensure quality adventures happen through the right gear.

Back in my day, the Boy Scouts of America offered a very particular set of opportunities. I could learn how to tie 45 different knots, then spend days and days perfecting all the delicate nuances. I could go camping and learn all about the great outdoors — how to not cut myself with a knife or light myself on fire, what types of shrubbery I could acceptably eat, what to do in subzero temperatures, etc. The opportunities involving technology? Not so great.

That was then, this is now. Experticity is partnering with the BSA to expand the opportunities available to Boy Scouts, better preparing them for a world where outdoors and technology are closely intertwined.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Boy Scouts of America on this important effort,” Tom Stockham, CEO of Experticity, said in a statement. “Our network continues to grow as we find passionate category influencers that are sought out for their opinion on what to buy. We are aligned with this group and their focus on great education to ensure quality adventures happen through the right gear.”

We’ve recently profiled Experticity on this very website, if you haven’t yet read it, do so now. If you’re too lazy to click on that link and spend 10 minutes of your time, I will enable your shameful ways and provide the money quote describing their mission: “Experticity finds brand enthusiasts and transforms them into trusted recommenders. They provide education about the brand the enthusiast loves so much, offers him/her wholesale access to the brand products, and deploys the now trusted recommender into the world to help customers feel product passion, and help the brand improve business.”

Taking that into account, Experticity’s partnership with the BSA centers on two things. First, scouts will be given insider access to various brands including info on the latest products and discounts. Second, they are creating special training for retail associates to help them fully understand the gear needs and requirements of Boy Scouts. Stores sporting these associates will be known as SCOUTfitters — if you’re a Boy Scout searching for truth on outdoor gear, these are the places you should visit.
