Lendio Raises $20M
“With this new round of capital, we now have the resources to launch these exciting new initiatives that will help us to expand our brand awareness and help small businesses find the best loan for any situation.”
This is not a repeat: Lendio has raised $20 million. Now, I’ll forgive you for being slightly confused because Lendio raised $20.5 million in March 2015, but don’t be. This is another $20 million that Lendio can use to further their mission of connecting small business owners with financing, and it was raised from two new investors (Comcast Ventures and Stereo Capital) and four existing ones (Napier Park, Blumberg Capital, Tribeca Venture Partners, North Hill Ventures).
“Every day, Lendio matches thousands of small businesses with the financing they need to grow, hire, and thrive,” Lendio CEO Brock Blake said in a statement. “Over the past year, we’ve been busy testing new customer acquisition strategies. With this new round of capital, we now have the resources to launch these exciting new initiatives that will help us to expand our brand awareness and help small businesses find the best loan for any situation.”
We’ve written about Lendio on this website before so instead of regurgitating information, I’m going to point you in the correct direction. Here, why not read the profile I wrote about Lendio and CEO Brock Blake. Or if you hate the way I write (which some of you definitely do) please listen to Brock explain Lendio’s journey in his own words on the Beehive Podcast. If neither of those fit your fancy, read this poem I just wrote about Lendio and their goal of fueling the American Dream.
The American Dream
You might think the American Dream is this:
sitting at home on a Sunday night
bathed in the neon glow of a television screen
wishing that Cardinals-Seahawks was half as good
as the steaming plate of nachos on your lap.
For a few hours, it’s easy to relax
and forget the demands of everyday life
the financial perils of running a business
that never had a chance to succeed.
In a saner world, the American Dream is this:
arriving at work on a Monday morning
walking into an empty office that will soon be filled
with the clatter of keys and the hush of human voices,
soft noises that form the beating heart of your business.
Gazing across the silent room, you think,
this is all possible because a platform called Lendio
connected me with someone who believed, who offered
a chance by simply saying, take this money and build.
