SolarCity Coming to Utah

SolarCity is leading a solar revolution and we are empowering communities with clean energy and sustainable job creation. We hope to attract many professionals in Utah and work alongside Utah policymakers to strengthen the state’s environmental policies and clean air initiatives.

SolarCity, the number one solar power provider in the United States, is coming to Utah. Based in San Mateo, California, SolarCity is planning to open regional corporate headquarters in Salt Lake City, with an estimated 4,000 jobs to follow over the next 10 years. They’re still scouting for the right location but have already begun talent recruitment, with a temporary downtown location at 175 East 400 South, 7th floor, SLC.

“SolarCity is leading a solar revolution and we are empowering communities with clean energy and sustainable job creation. We hope to attract many professionals in Utah and work alongside Utah policymakers to strengthen the state’s environmental policies and clean air initiatives,” Brendon Merkley, Executive Vice President, Customer Operations of SolarCity, said in a statement.

If you need more evidence that people outside Utah are taking note of the rising tech community (and you shouldn’t), SolarCity’s move strengthens that argument. #weareutah
