10 MBA Students Receive Prestigious Hawes Scholars Award at BYU Marriott School of Business
Ten outstanding MBA students from the BYU Marriott School of Business have been honored with the prestigious 2023 Hawes Scholars Award, marking the highest distinction bestowed upon MBA students at the institution. Along with this esteemed recognition, each recipient will receive a cash award of $10,000.
The exceptional individuals recognized as this year's Hawes Scholars are Madison Bean, Brodie Bevans, Jared Croft, Cedric Huntington, Sarah Lyman, Coltin Romney, Zachary Rudd, Tracy Smith-van Pelt, Kyle Webster, and Ziyu Wu. These scholars have made significant contributions to the MBA program, showcasing their dedication to academic excellence and the growth of their fellow classmates.
The Hawes Scholars Award, established in 1998, is named after Rodney A. Hawes Jr. and Beverly Hawes, and is made possible through the Hawes Endowment, a generous $2 million grant supporting various initiatives aimed at bolstering and nurturing the MBA program. The BYU Marriott School of Business, named after benefactors J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott, is dedicated to cultivating leaders of faith, intellect, and character who can make a positive impact on the world.
Daniel Snow, the BYU Marriott MBA director, commended the recipients: "This year’s Hawes Scholars stand out among their peers for their impactful contributions to the MBA program. They are all firmly committed not only to academic excellence but also building up their classmates."
With four graduate and nine undergraduate programs, the BYU Marriott School of Business boasts an enrollment of approximately 3,300 students. The institution prides itself on its commitment to developing principled leaders who can bring about positive change globally.
