Dozens of Superstar Athletes Invest in Kodiak
Kodiak, a Park City, Utah-based protein-powered breakfast staples company, recently announced an investment by Patricof Co (P/Co), a private investment platform for professional athletes. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Listed among the investors are,
- Joe Burrow,
- Rudy Gay,
- Adam Henrique,
- Travis Kelce,
- CC Sabathia, and
- Sloane Stephens.
Kelce, NFL Pro Bowl tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, stated,
"I've been a fan of Kodiak products for a long time and am excited to officially collaborate with the brand. Their cakes are high-protein, whole grain, and taste great. I'm looking forward to working with the Kodiak team and collectively bring the brand to even more consumers."
According to the press release, P/Co and Kodiak will establish an Athlete Advisory Council, whose purpose will be to co-create new food products, marketing campaigns, and sustainability initiatives.
Kodiak CEO, Joel Clark, said about the collaboration,
"Through this long-term partnership we not only have an oppportunity to fuel notable players and insiders within the sports world who've found their recipe for success, but we are also connecting them directly with our mission to inspire healthier eating and active living."
Kodiak products currently include an assortment of,
- whole grain pancake and waffle mixes,
- frozen waffles and pancakes,
- snacking products,
- baking mixes, and
- oatmeal.
The company was acquired last year by L Catterton, a consumer-focused private equity group based out of Greenwich, Connecticut with $30 billion in assets under management.
