Over the past several weeks six separate Utah-based companies were acquired or they purchased other firms.

However, financial terms were not disclosed in any of these transactions.

Brief highlights of these six transactions are found below.


Institut Mérieux Acquires Second Utah-based Biotech Firm Through its Mérieux NutriSciences Arm

Nearly eight years after Institut Mérieux acquired BioFire for $485 million through its in vitro arm, bioMérieux, another Utah-based biotech company has been acquired by a separate Institut Mérieux-owned entity.

The acquired company? Salt Lake City-based Dyad Labs.

Unlike the purchase of BioFire, financial terms of this particular acquisition were not disclosed.

Chicago-based Mérieux NutriSciences (70% owned by Institut Mérieux), a world leader in Food Safety, Quality and Sustainability, is the firm that has acquired Dyad Labs.

Formed in 2008, Dyad Labs is an accredited laboratory that provides specialized chemistry and microbiology testing services to the Nutraceutical, and Food & Beverage industries.

OptConnect Acquires Premier Wireless Solutions

Kaysville, Utah-based OptConnect has acquired Premier Wireless Solutions out of San Jose, California. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

OptConnect is a managed wireless solutions provider focused in the Internet of Things (IOT) marketplace with over 3,500 customers around the United States.

The Park Record Gets Bought by Ogden Newspapers

Park City, Utah-based The Park Record (and its sister newspapers) have been sold by parent company, Swift Communications, to Ogden Newspapers. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Fishbowl Inventory has been Acquired by Private Equity Firm, Diversis Capital

Orem, Utah-based Fishbowl Inventory has been acquired by Diversis Capital, a private equity firm headquartered in Los Angeles. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Qualtrics International Acquires SurveyVitals

Provo, Utah-based Qualtrics International has acquired Boise, Idaho-based SurveyVitals, a 20-year-old patient survey/research company. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Lithko Contracting Acquires the Assets of SLC-based Frontline Concrete

With help from its financial backers, DNS Capital and The Pritzker Organization, Lithko Contracting has acquired the assets of Salt Lake City-based Frontline Concrete. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Lithko has over 4,000 co-workers and is a market-leading, full-service commercial concrete contractor.
