Weave Raises $37.5M

A very long time ago, I was a fresh-faced youth looking to find his way as a writer in the startup scene. One of my very first interviews/stories was with Weave founders Brandon and Jared Rodman, a pair of less fresh semi-youths who were looking to find their way as startup founders all the same.

Now look at us all. I'm still stuck in the mud as a startup writer who knows nothing about startups, but the Rodmans are making up for my follies. Today, Weave announces a $37.5 million Series C round led by Lead Edge Capital, with participation from existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners, Catalyst Investors, Crosslink Capital and Pelion Venture Partners.

“Weave’s full-stack VoIP and customer engagement platform ties together two systems that were historically disparate,” said Nimay Mehta, Lead Edge Capital partner and new member of Weave's Board of Directors. “Businesses get the benefit of a system that works seamlessly, while their customers receive a more personalized experience. Whenever a platform allows its user to create truly meaningful relationships with their customer, you have something truly special, and that’s exactly what Weave has done. We’re thrilled to be a part of their next stage of growth.”

Weave has been active in the last few years, accepted into Y Combinator before raising a $5 million Series A round led by A Capital, then following up with a $15 million Series B round led by Crosslink. Joe Montana randomly participated in the Series B round, though no former NFL stars participated in today's round. Weave's plan moving forward? Double their workforce in the next year and get nutty.
