PrinterLogic In 2018: Success, Momentum And Growth
This article appears in the Winter 2019 issue of Silicon Slopes Magazine.
By Ryan Wedig, CEO, PrinterLogic.
2018 was an important year for PrinterLogic. We had many accomplishments: new partnerships, company expansion, acquired talent, new offices and awards, just to name a few. We began the year with a bang, finalizing a $15 million Series A round of financing led by Mercato Partners allowing us to accelerate product development and fuel market expansion.
With the momentum of new funding, PrinterLogic expanded our European presence by building up our EMEA headquarters and opening a new office in the UK. This has allowed us to further deepen our talent and resources to better service clients on a global scale. We also opened a new East Coast office in Cary, North Carolina, to support continued growth and position more resources close to major U.S. business hubs.
The company added significant talent to its team in 2018 with Eva Helén, CEO of Epiquette and EQ Inspiration, who became PrinterLogic’s newest member of the Board of Directors. Her depth of experience and knowledge will help lead PrinterLogic into the future and further establish PrinterLogic as a leader and a company to be emulated. JD Carter was named the new Chief Marketing Officer and has taken over responsibility for product definition, corporate branding, product marketing and demand generation. Marketing and sales have been incredibly important and will continue to play a key role in our plans for the coming year.
This year also brought about several key partnerships, expansion with existing partners, and the creation of new programs and abilities for the company. These partnerships include a technology alliance with Canon Solutions America, Inc., a distribution partnership with Cranel Imaging, and a partnership with IGEL to provide end users with streamlined printer installation solutions. Additionally, PrinterLogic was verified for the Citrix Ready™ program with Printer Installer, our robust, cost-effective, and scalable print management solution. PrinterLogic was also distinguished as an Advanced Technology Partner with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
PrinterLogic released several new products in 2018. One area of exceptionally rapid growth was our SaaS offering — experiencing a 600% growth over 2017. The SaaS solution for Managed Service Providers (MSP) was also adopted by notable companies such as Les Olson Company, The 20, SG1 Cloud, Dex Imaging, Impact Networking and Ray Morgan Company. Together, we provide a powerful, versatile, streamlined, and consistent print management solution developed specifically for MSPs and their customers. PrinterLogicʼs PrinterCloud for MSPs is a zero-footprint, cloud-based solution that offers feature parity with PrinterLogicʼs proven on-premises software, an enterprise-grade print management solution that is infinitely scalable and incredibly cost effective.
This has also been a year of substantial customer growth. We have been focusing on and gaining key customers in vertical industries such as healthcare, education, financial and government. Some of our customer wins this year include Kaiser Permanente, Ascension Health, United States Operations Command (SOCOM), Uniformed Services University of Health Services (USUHS), and the Smithsonian.
Due to our team’s collective hard work and dedication, PrinterLogic received a number of industry awards in 2018. Our CFO, Shane Callahan, was named CXO of the Year by Utah Business magazine. Utah Business also ranked PrinterLogic as one of Utahʼs Best Companies to Work For. In recognition of our growth, PrinterLogic was named one of the fastest growing companies in North America, ranking number 376 on Deloitteʼs Technology Fast 500.
At PrinterLogic, we are excited about 2019 and beyond. We will continue our accelerated growth by helping our customers eliminate print servers and manage their print infrastructure more effectively and securely. In addition, we will be expanding our product offerings including our innovative serverless technology.
We also look forward to breaking ground this coming year on our new company headquarters located at Tech Ridge in St. George, a 160-acre, multi-faceted business and technology community that will include office space, apartments and condominiums, and retail shopping and restaurants — all ringed by more than 60 acres of parks and trails.
