Six Utah Companies Recognized For Cloud Computing Prowess

It’s called the Cloud 100 and its purpose is recognizing the top private companies that concentrate on cloud computing.

You won’t believe this, but Forbes just came out with a list. It’s called the Cloud 100 and its purpose is recognizing the top private companies that concentrate on cloud computing.

This list was created on the criteria of “financial health and growth of their business alongside exceptional qualitative factors such as unprecedented customer adoption and satisfaction,” which is just a long-winded way of saying these companies can ball at cloud computing. And as all of you Utah tech aficionados know, our state contains many companies that have been known to ball at cloud computing. So how many made the list?

Six, led by Qualtrics at #12, who receives personal bonus points from me for appearing on Daniel Summerhays polo when he was doing work at The PGA Championship:

Qualtrics was followed by five other heavyweights from the Utah tech scene — Domo (#18), Pluralsight (#36), InsideSales (#39), Health Catalyst (#59), and Workfront (#71). With six companies, Utah tied Southern California and trailed only Silicon Valley (55), New York City (12), and Boston (7) for total companies on the list.

If this were the College Football Playoff, Utah would enter as the four seed, which you might think is an underdog until you remember two years ago when Ohio State beat the bejesus out of Alabama and Oregon as the four seed to win the national championship. That team was coached by Urban Meyer, who also coached at Utah, so you can see that everything — football, tech, cloud computing, you name it — circles back to the Beehive State in the end.
