WhiteClouds Acquires 3DplusMe

3DplusMe had the front-end 3D experience, brands, and software technology. WhiteClouds had the back-end high-capacity production and the 3D printing technology expertise. Being located within 50 miles of each other was a nice secondary benefit.

It’s time for some Utah-on-Utah acquisition news: Ogden-based WhiteClouds has acquired Pleasant Grove-based 3DplusMe as they continue to enhance their position as the largest full-color 3D print service provider in the world.

“This was a strategic opportunity in 3D printing to allow the creation of an end-to-end, scalable solution for mass markets,” said WhiteClouds CEO Jerry Ropelato. “It came together very quickly. 3DplusMe had the front-end 3D experience, brands, and software technology. WhiteClouds had the back-end high-capacity production and the 3D printing technology expertise. Being located within 50 miles of each other was a nice secondary benefit.”

According to Ropelato, WhiteClouds handles around 70% of all full-color 3D production in the world for consumer products. This number should increase with the addition of 3DplusMe, who specializes in providing 3D experiences and products to a wide variety of brands in sports, video games, and entertainment — Marvel, Halo, MLB, MLS, DreamWorks, and many more.
