Bringing GMS into the CHG family allows us to meet the growing need for physicians in the U.S. and abroad.
We’ve caught wind of some acquisition news drifting in off the Great Salt Lake — CHG Healthcare Services has acquired Salt Lake City-based Global Medical Staffing, the second Utah company acquired by CHG (joining SLC-based CompHealth).
“CHG and Global Medical Staffing share a commitment to placing high-quality providers who deliver outstanding patient care, as well as a passion for making a difference in the world,” CHG COO Mark Law said in a statement. “Bringing GMS into the CHG family allows us to meet the growing need for physicians in the U.S. and abroad.”
CHG is the nation’s largest privately held healthcare staffing company. Global Medical Staffing is a locum tenens staffing agency, which means they designate physicians for temporary assignment in healthcare facilities throughout the world. Based on these two facts, it’s easy to see the line of logic connecting this acquisition — CHG adds to its employee base of 2,200+, GMS joins one of FORTUNE magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For.” Win/win.
