by Quinn Edwards, VP of Client Success, SoftServe
Over the years, SoftServe has been a driving force behind the solutions for some of the most well-known names in the Utah technology landscape. As a global company with approximately 8000 associates, we have numerous resources to ensure the success of our clients. Currently we have many employees working in Lehi as client partners, pre-sales engineers, account executives, and technical consultants. We specialize in providing end-to-end solutions with a focus on using technology to drive business results. Having the profound expertise in human-centered design, leveraging the latest trends in architecture, DevOps, security, IoT, AR/VR, big data, and much more, we provide consulting leadership and unmatched implementation to achieve success. The most rewarding part of my role is seeing local Utah businesses make tremendous progress that could not have happened without SoftServe.
My Path to SoftServe
SoftServe was founded in 1996 by a group of Ph.D. professors in Western Ukraine. Since then, SoftServe has helped our partners over the years accelerate their business goals as advisors and technology solution providers.
I joined SoftServe in 2010 as a Client Partner for the accounts in the western United States. At Utah State University, I had studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, but migrated over to the business side after graduating. SoftServe was very appealing to me to combine my traditional education and my practical business experience. In 2010 and 2011, SoftServe had a growing number of clients in Utah. I started spending more time developing our partnerships in Utah until it was my focus. In Lehi, Utah, the office opened in 2011.
Culture Comes First
What has truly kept me at SoftServe for nine years is the culture. SoftServe cares about its people and has developed an unmatched environment. The opportunities are endless and the company thrives on promoting its associates. Every mid-level engineer knows exactly what to do to become a senior engineer. They can reference our knowledge model matrix and find the training, requirements, skills, and results needed to advance. Each employee has a career advisor who helps them along the career path.
I like to joke and frequently ask those in the industry about when was the last time your boss sat you down to ask about your career: “What do we need to do together to get you to your next level in your career and make you more money?”
At SoftServe, that is the standard practice. Developing talent is centric to our culture.
When Qualified Help is Needed
The exciting thing in the market is that the need for talent is accelerating beyond the resource availability. With each successful Utah company, there are many spin-off companies. The platforms and frameworks are always improving effectiveness and efficiency, but the data available and business problems are increasingly complex.
Local universities are doing a good job producing talented engineers, but from what I can observe, they are not doubling the graduates on a regular cadence. Keeping this in mind, the market is not slowing down. SoftServe participates in many events and hosts workshops with experts from across the world. SoftServe has the largest non-profit in Ukraine and has opportunities for participation on all different levels.
Our business in Utah has been growing 40-50 percent year-over-year since the official opening, bringing our clients more of local expertise. SoftServe has been a Microsoft Partner Network member with Gold competency since 2000. We are a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Premier Service partner with 270+ certified architects. We empower businesses to tackle problems using big data management, cloud architecture, AI, and ML, no matter where you are in your business journey.
By being Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced Consulting Partner, SoftServe’s professional team of engineers, architects, and data scientists (with competencies in data & analytics as well as DevOps) provide state-of-the-art solutions to solve business problems.
