Former Amazon executive Carolyn Sarnoff has been appointed as the Chief Marketing Officer at Silicon Slopes-based Pattern, the leading company in global ecommerce acceleration. With nearly 20 years of experience in building and leading global ecommerce businesses and marketing functions, Sarnoff's expertise is expected to play a crucial role in the company's growth.
In her new position, Sarnoff will be responsible for overseeing Pattern's marketing efforts worldwide, spanning across 24 offices, studios, and fulfillment centers. Prior to joining Pattern, Sarnoff held important roles at Amazon, where she managed multi-billion-dollar profit and loss portfolios, overseeing marketing and growth operations in several key business units. Her responsibilities included developing brand and go-to-market strategies, product development, product marketing, channel development, customer success, and more. Sarnoff also led Amazon's worldwide private label business for softlines and served as the General Manager for various Amazon consumer electronic categories.
“Joining Pattern was a no-brainer and a continuation of a personal mission,” said Sarnoff. “Observing the headwinds brands face selling online over the past decade has driven me to be an active part of the solution, and no company is better at helping brands navigate those complexities than Pattern. Global ecommerce is a $7 trillion opportunity, and I am so excited to help brands capture their fair share of the market and accelerate to unprecedented growth.”
Before her tenure at Amazon, Sarnoff served as Chief of Staff to the Chief Marketing Officer at Salesforce, coordinating marketing efforts across multiple functions for the company's global team. Sarnoff holds a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management, with concentrations in marketing and strategy. She also earned a bachelor's degree in art history and psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
