The grand prize went to Pattern Jam for presenting a startup the judge’s felt had a high likelihood of success and a real use for the $5K worth of development from Izeni.
I know what you’re thinking. “TechTeamUp? Didn’t Beehive Startups host that event over a month ago? They’re just barely announcing the winner now? I mean, have you no shame, Beehive?”
Yes, we held this event in early May. Yes, we’re just announcing the winner now. Shame? Yeah, we don’t have any of that.
For those who’ve forgotten — and of course you’ve forgotten — TechTeamUp is an event where non-technical founders present their startup in front of a highly-technical audience with the hopes of procuring a technical co-founder.
Aside from offering the potential of adding a co-founder and dramatically changing a startup’s trajectory, the TechTeamUp grand prize was $5K worth of development from our good friends at Izeni.
So, yeah, kind of a big deal. Our bad on the super late announcement.
Weave CTO Clint Berry, DemoChimp CTO Stephen Felt, and Molio CTO Brent Rambo graciously agreed to judge this event on short notice. The insight, advice, and overall mentorship they provided to the participating companies was invaluable and very much appreciated.

We’re set to do an in-depth profile on Pattern Jam and its founder Emily Taylor in the coming days, but suffice it to say this is a startup with a lot of potential to take Utah by storm in the coming months. Congratulations to Pattern Jam for winning TechTeamUp 2015!
Thank you to everyone who participated and made TechTeamUp possible — especially Gabe and Jordan Gunderson from Izeni, and Victor Villa and the rest of the OpenWest team.
