Garrett Clark sits down with Founder and CEO of PÜRTREK, Kyle Stringham. PÜRTREK is an outdoor, hiking, and water-filtration company that has developed the first trekking pole with an integrated water-filtration system, making it convenient to drink purified water anywhere in the outdoors. In this interview, they discuss PÜRTREK's founding story, prototyping process, and so much more.
Kyle first got the idea for PÜRTREK while being a scout master for a group of teenagers. According to Kyle, whenever the campsite needed water, Kyle would spend 40-50 minutes on his stomach and knees leaning over a body of water using his water filter. After this experience, he knew there was a better way to filter water.
After years of prototyping, the PÜRTREK trekking pole finally launched. In 2022, PÜRTREK's trekking pole won the ISPO Award and has most recently been picked up by major distribution channels.
