Acquisition Bolsters CenExcel's National Footprint of Clinical Research Centers

Salt Lake City-based CenExcel Clinical Research, Inc. has acquired Advanced Memory Research Institute of Toms Rivers, New Jersey.

According to its news release, CenExcel was formed in 2018 and now has 11 locations throughout the United States.

These clinical research centers focus on supporting pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations (CROs) through their respective Phase I-IV clinical trials.

Case in point, the newly named CenExcel AMRI is the largest Alzheimer’s disease clinical research site in the northeastern U.S., but it also supports studies across other central nervous system diseases/conditions such as memory loss and dementia.

Of CenExcel's 11 locations, nine centers specialize in research addressing CNS disorders.

As a company, however, CenExcel supports research studies across such areas as clinical pharmacology, dermatology, ethnic-bridging, immunology, neurology, pain, psychiatry, sleep studies, and vaccines.

No financial terms of the acquisition were disclosed.
