The highest grossing law firm in the U.S. has opened its doors in Salt Lake City. Chicago-founded Kirkland & Ellis has moved three partners to their SLC office with room to grow.
In a recent interview, partner Travis Nelson pointed out that Kirkland has a long history of hires from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law as well as Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School. Nelson is, himself, a BYU Law alum, as well as Brigham Cannon, who is relocating from the D.C. area.
Because Utah has become such a hotbed for tech and venture capital, Kirkland sees major potential in the 'Slopes. The opening of the SLC office comes quick on the heels of Kirkland's last office opening in Austin, its third Texas office in seven years.
