For the second time in a week, another high-profile Utah company has added a new President/COO
Park City, Utah-based Deer Valley Resort has selected Todd Bennett as its president and chief operating officer. He starts in the new role August 1, 2022.
According to the company news release, and his personal LinkedIn Profile, Bennett joins the Deer Valley Resort from The Walt Disney Company where, most recently, he served as its executive director, product.
All told, Bennett has spent over 18 years with The Walt Disney Company working for multiple Disney enterprises in growing responsibility and seniority during his career.
In addition, Bennett has nearly seven years of experience in the skiing and winter sports industries, including three years as operations manager for Vail Resorts.
According to Mark Brownlie, chief operating officer, Alterra Mountain Company, parent company of Deer Valley,
“Todd has an impressive background in developing and leading guest-centric teams by focusing on the overall employee experience and culture. His vision to blend legendary experiences only found at Deer Valley with new and innovative offerings ahead, plus his love of the mountains, is an ideal match for a resort that is committed to setting the bar for excellence in guest experiences.”
As noted in the news release, Bennett will initially focus on two primary areas:
- The Snow Park base area redevelopment,
- The reimagining of 15 acres of surface parking lots at Snow Park into a modern and convenient premier base area.
Bennett received an MBA from Emory University and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Cornell University.
Earlier this week, Draper, Utah-based Pluralsight announced it had hired former Microsoft executive, Somit Goyal, as its new president and COO.
